Yakima LongArm Bed Extender Review - 2021 Chevrolet Silverado 1500

Hi, Matt with etrailer. Today we're gonna be talking about the Yakima LongArm on the 2021 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. This is gonna be an excellent add-on to your vehicle, especially if you already have a bed rack installed on the vehicle. Today we have the BedRock installed and since they are the same brand they do work pretty nicely together. This is gonna be great if you need to haul any longer items kind of like kayaks or a ladder like we have today. What I also like about it is you don't need to use it with a bed rack. more

Erickson Hitch Cargo Carrier Review - 2017 Chevrolet Colorado

Hey everybody, Ryan here at etrailer. Today on our 2017 Chevy Colorado, we're gonna be checking out the Erickson Big Bed tailgate extender junior. So when it comes to these Colorados, you know they don't have huge beds. Most of 'em are five foot. And even with the tailgate down when you need to carry around a long load, you know it can be a little bit challenging. And so using an extender like this what it's gonna do is bump everything out a little bit and give us some tie-down points. more

Malone Axis Truck Bed and Roof Load Extender Installation - 1998 Chevrolet C/K Series Pickup

Today on my 1998 Chevrolet Silverado we're gonna be taking a look at the Malone Axis Truck Bed Load Extender. It's also gonna give us a tie down point for our ladder. On certain trucks, you're not gonna really have a whole lot of tie down points if any, on the inside of the bed. On my truck, I don't So it gives us another place to put a strap on to secure the load. I have one here and I also have one going down to the hitch. The hole has a 3/4 inch diameter. more

Darby Extend-A-Truck Hitch Cargo Carrier Review - 2019 Chevrolet Colorado

Hey, everybody, it's Rob here at etrailer.com. Today, we're going to be taking a look at the Darby Extend-A-Truck load extender on our 2019 Chevrolet Colorado. Now our Extend-A-Truck load extender is going to do exactly what it sounds like. It's going to allow us to take elongated gear and create a support point at the back, so we're not having it stick out the back of our tailgate or even out the back of our bed. You can see here, we have a really large ladder that clearly isn't going to fit inside of our truck. So our support here is going to make sure that that ladder actually is supported and held back here rather than having all of this sectional ladder unsupported. And here in our Colorado, we have a five foot bed and let's face it, once you start getting into some lumber, maybe you're carrying a sheet of plywood, some supplies or a ladder like we have here, it gets really complicated on how you're going to carry it. more

Darby Extend-A-Truck Hitch Cargo Carrier Review - 2018 Chevrolet Silverado 3500

Speaker 1: Today on our 2018 Chevrolet Silverado 3500, we're going to be installing Darby's Extend A Truck Hitch Mounted Load Extender, part number DTA944.This truck bed extender's going to maximize your truck's loading capacity. It's going to allow you to carry extra long items, such as ladders, lumber, tubing, and whatever else you may need. With the tailgate down on your Silverado, it's going to give you an additional 35 inches of length coming off the back of your truck. And it is a four foot wide span across, so it'll be pretty much the same width of your truck bed. You'll find tie down points on each edge at the top, so you can secure your load, make sure it ain't going anywhere. And there's five different height adjustments to match the height of your truck bed when the tailgate's up or down.It is a 350 pound load capacity, is constructed of solid steel, and has a black powder coat finish to prevent any rust and corrosion. It works with two inch by two inch hitches. Now we do have a two and a half inch hitch here on our vehicle, but if your Silverado's got one of these as well, you can get a sleeve here at etrailer.com.Now, if you have a ladder rack on your vehicle, you can put it in an upright position to extend your ladder rack as well, or if you're heading to your destination and you haven't got it loaded up yet, and you want to minimize the length of your vehicle on the way there to load it up, you can take the pin out on the backside, slide the top half off, take the pin out in the hitch, slide it out, flip it to the upright position, reinstall it, reinstall your pin, and then install the top half at the desired height. And that completes our installation of Darby's Extend A Truck Hitch Mounted Load Extender, on our 2018 Chevrolet Silverado. more

Darby Extend-A-Truck Hitch Cargo Carrier Review - 2018 Chevrolet Silverado 2500

Speaker 1: Today on our 2018 Chevrolet Silverado, we're gonna be installing Darby's extended truck hitch mounted load extender, part number DTA944. This truck bed extension is gonna help you secure and stabilize extremely long and heavy loads in the back of your truck. It can be used for any excessively long items, such as ladders, lumber, kayaks, and whatever else you can throw back on there. There's a 48 inch extended platform in the back to stack your gear on top of. Located on each side, you'll find a nice tie-down loop, where you can hook bungee cords, ratcheting straps, or just pull straps. And when you've got your tailgate down from the edge of the tailgate to the edge of your extender, it's gonna measure about 35 inches, so you'll have that much more to be able to load up gear onto the back of your truck. more

Erickson Big Bed Load Extender Installation - 2015 Chevrolet Silverado 1500

Speaker 1: Today on our 2015 Chevrolet Silverado 1500, we're gonna be taking a look at the Erickson Big Bed Load Extender for two inch hitches, part number EM07600.We've all been in that situation whether we're going down to the hardware store to pick up some lumber, or some drywall, or going down to the lake with our kayak and canoe where we can't fit it into the bed of our truck. Well, that's where our Big Bed Extender is gonna allow us to carry those long loads and still have support and get it down the road safely. Now we do have a little bit of support from our tailgate, but past that we're really not gonna have anything. Our Big Bed Extender is gonna extend out about 30 and 1/4 inches past our tailgate. We're gonna have several integrated anchor points on each end, that way you can make sure our gear is gonna stay nice and secure. And we're gonna be able to support loads all the way up to four feet wide. Now, whenever carrying an extended load, you wanna check your local laws to make sure, but they do provide you with a red flag so we can attach it to whatever we're carrying so we can make sure that everybody knows that it's there. We're gonna have three different height settings that we can adjust right here by removing the bolt and sliding the mast up or down to get the height we need. And whenever we get to where we're going and we get unloaded, we can come to the mast here and we can fold the arms in. more

Speaker 1: Today on our 2015 Chevrolet Silverado, we're going to be taking a look at the Erickson Big Bed Junior Load Extender, part number EM07605. With short bed trucks becoming more and more common, it is becoming a problem to carry extended loads. That's where our Big Bed Junior's going to come in. It's going to allow us to carry elongated loads and safely support them so we can get down the road. Here we have a ladder but you can also carry drywall, wood, even a kayak or a canoe, anything that's going to extend past your bed where it needs that extra support. We are going to have some support from our tailgate with it folded down, but our Big Bed Extender Junior is going to extend past our tailgate right about 31 inches right here in the front. We're going to have a tie down anchor on each end to make sure we can secure our gear and get it down the road safely. more

Malone Axis Truck Bed and Roof Load Extender Installation - 2013 Chevrolet Silverado

Speaker 1: Today, on our 2013 Chevrolet Silverado, we're going to be taking a look at the Malone Axis Truck Bed and Roof Load Extender, part number MPG907 00:00:10. This truck bed extender is going to give you 53 inches of extension from the center of your hitch pin hole to the edge so you can haul the longest loads such as ladders, lumber, steel tubing, piping, steel beams, rods. You name it, you can put it on here. And, it can hold 500 pounds on the truck bed extender. So, if you figure that across the entire truck bed, you can haul some heavy stuff. Unlike some other truck bed extenders, this one has tall load stops, which are also adjustable, increasing the maximum width of whatever you can haul behind you with a range of 28 inches up to 48 inches. There's plenty of tie down points on the load stops, and you can go underneath the arms. more

Erickson Hitch Cargo Carrier Review - 2008 Chevrolet Silverado

Today, on our 2008 Chevrolet Silverado, we're going to be taking a look at the Erickson Big Bed Junior Load Extender for truck bed or roofs, part number EM07605. Whether we need to transport a ladder, go to the hardware store, pick up some sheets of plywood, or anything else that's longer than 8 feet, you know the headache if you don't have an 8-foot bed truck. That's where our bed extender's going to come into play. It's going to allow us to be able to support our load and carry it securely and have tie-down points so we can get down the road safely. Our truck bed extender is going to allow us from the hitch receiver here and extend out all the way to 48 inches or four feet. Since the tailgate is down, from the tailgate to the end of our extenders, it's going to be right about 33 inches. At the end of our extender here, we're going to have several different holes. Now this is going to be able to adjust the height and how high you need the back end up or how far down. more

Darby Extend-A-Truck Hitch Cargo Carrier Review - 2013 Chevrolet Silverado

Today on our 2013 Chevrolet Silverado, we're going to be taking a look at the Darby Hitch Mounted Load Extender, part number DTA944. Now if you've ever hauled with your truck, I'm sure most of us have been in the situation where we either needed to carry a ladder, some lumber, or maybe even some drywall, and for us those that don't have eight-foot beds, and with most of the load sticking out, it is a little bit unsafe and using the extender is going to be able to give you a spot to tie your load down and make everything more secure. On each end of our extender we're going to have one tie-down point. That way no matter what we are carrying, it's going to be able to secure it down. Now here, with the included pin and clip, we can make our adjustments, so if you need your load to be angled down into your bed, you can raise it up, or if you need it at level, you can lower it down to make it level so your load sits how you want it to. Now our extender is going to work with 2-inch hitches, and it does also include the pin and clip for your hitch. Now our extended truck is going to give us 49" of extra load carrying capability. On the end here, we're going to be able to put all of our loads and anything else we need to carry for up to 4-feet wide. Now our extended truck is going to be able to hold and withstand up to 350-pounds of weight. more

Today on our 2015 Chevrolet Silverado Crewcab, we're going to be doing a test fit of the Darby Extend-A-Truck hitch-mounted load extender. This is going to be part number DTA944. We can drop it down to meet up with the lower headache rack or up above to meet up with our roof rack that you see on there now, or it will collapse. This part, you'll collapse it down and then reverse it, and it will actually extend out on the outside so you can put down your tailgate and extend your load outwards if you want to keep it all in the bed of your truck. We'll go through how all of that works, but we wanted to show you how the ladder looks up on top and always make sure that you secure it down using your straps or ties or rope or whatever, what have you. You can get straps and all that on our website if you'd like at etrailer.com. Let's go ahead and get the straps off, and then, we'll break it down and show you how everything works. more
